Wedding weekend

March 14th - 16th was the weekend of Melanie and Brad's wedding in Athens, GA. The festivities started Friday night for the rehearsal dinner at Harry Bissets - great food, lots of wine, and plenty of funny stories were on the menu. After the dinner, 15 of us had a karaoke party at a new restaurant, Shokatini. I just wish I would have brought my camera for that - seems like we have a few karaoke masters among us (I'm married to one, BTW!).
The wedding wasn't until Saturday afternoon (4:00pm) at the Botanical Gardens, but most of the day was spent prepping, delivering items to the chapel and recovering from the night before! The wedding went off without a hitch except for a few downpours. We didn't know that Athens and Five Point (about 3-5 miles from the Botanical Gardens) were under a tornado warning. I stupidly forgot my camera for the wedding, but she has plenty of pics from family, friends and the photographer they hired.
I didn't forget to take my camera to the after party at the Flick'r bar though! We rented the bar from 7:00pm till close plus booked a live blues grass band. Everyone finally relaxed (mainly my Mom) after a stressful day - alcohol can help you with that though! It was great to finally get to talk w/ lots of family/friends I hadn't seen in years. Melanie had several friend fly from Japan just for the wedding - her former host family and one of her bridesmaid. I can never complain about traveling for a wedding now because I can't compete w/ them (about a 15 hour plane flight!).
Congratulations, Melanie and Brad!
